  • Ms. Meetu Kapur leads Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) Food and Agriculture Vertical, driving policy and reform across the sectors, working with stakeholders across, government, industry, civil society and NGO's. She is also, responsible for setting up CII's Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE). FACE is focused on catalyzing innovation, building capacity and enhancing productivity, in the agriculture and food processing sector.
  • Prior to working with CII, Meetu co-founded 26 Celsius, a Boston based startup focused on building innovative and scalable market based solutions that improve agricultural productivity and enable financial inclusion. From 1996 to 2009 she worked with General Electric in the areas of financial services, and business re-engineering based out of India and the UK .
  • She has 20 years of experience across Project Management, Operations, Quality and Sustainability in the Agricultural and Financial Services Sector with strong expertise in building strategic partnerships and managing global programs.
  • She is a graduate of the MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership and has completed certificate programs in Corporate Finance and Advanced Microeconomics from London School of Economics.


Food Safety, Regulatory & Quality







  • Dr Indrani Ghose, Strategic Advisor, Food Safety and Quality of CII's Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence, is a National Level Resource Person for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's (FSSAI)'s Food Safety Training and Certification Program (FoSTaC) in the Manufacturing, Catering and Bakery sectors. One of her key focus areas is the design, development and continual improvement of the unique CII Food Safety Maturity Model and its administration as the CII Award Program for Food Safety in the Indian Industry since 2010. She has trained more than 360 Food Professionals as Lead assessors / assessors for conducting on - site Maturity assessments for the Food Safety Award. Indrani has also facilitated successful introduction of the Cluster Approach in Indian Food Processing units for implementing HACCP and global standards of Food Safety Management Systems using TQM tools and techniques. Establishing Global and National collaborative connects & networks for promoting best practices , developing and deploying new Service Portfolios and promoting Capacity building and Science behind Food Safety and Quality across the country are her key primary responsibilities.







  • Shashikanth , K.N.  a  Food Industry  Quality and Food safety  professional with over 22 years of Industrial Experience  majorly into Bakery Industry  and with  13 years of  Research and Development Experience in the areas of  Food Microbiology , Spices. He graduated  from University of Mysore with a  Ph.D., in Food Microbiology from  CFTRI, Mysore, specializing on  Antimicrobial principles of Garlic.
  • In his profession career he worked with major industries playing a vital role in the area of R&D, Quality Assurance various Quality Tools, Systems and Processes,  Discriminatory Sensory Panels  Q Next initiative, etc.







  • Sam Thomas John is an Agricultural Engg graduate with 18 years of experience in Implementing in Food Safety Standards Consultancy Projects in Food Industry, Food Safety Standards Audits, & Food Safety & Hygiene Standards Trainings across India & Overseas. At CII Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence he is responsible for Capacity Building Initiatives across the food safety chain through Consultancy, Assessments, Trainings, Seminars, Workshops, CII Food Safety Award and through Partnerships with Industry, Regulatory Bodies, Academic Research & Institutes and International Organizations.







  • A Qualified Lead Auditor on ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, ISO 22000, SQF 2000 - Level III, BSCI and SA 8000, is an able Trainer, Consultant and an Auditor in the Food Industry. With a vast experience of 22 years, she has trained more than 5000 Food Business Operators in Open -House as well as in In-House Programs across the country.

    She has facilitated more than 50 Integrated Food Manufacturing Organizations towards certifications on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) , Good Hygiene Practices ( GHP), HACCP, ISO 22000 on Cluster Development Projects. She is an empanelled Trainer of Tea Board of India, Spices Board and APEDA ( Agricultural and Processed Food Export Development Authority) and an empanelled Auditor under various Certification Bodies of International repute.  

    She has successfully completed IIT-CII Certified Food Professional Course in 2013 and  an extensive course on Supply Chain Management for Spices and Botanical Ingredients at the University of Maryland and at University of Mississippi, U.S.A and trained Spice Farmers, Manufacturers, Exporters, Traders, Blenders, Govt. Field officials on Train the Trainer modules based on Good Agricultural Practices ( GAP).







  • Surbhi Datta, Post Graduate in Food Technology, is a Quality and Food Safety Professional having a 10+years of experience in the field of Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Training and Development. She was engaged in various consultancy projects including international project funded by European Union pertaining to GMP/GHP, implementation of ISO22000; HACCP.
  • Her current profile involves, development of food category specific Food Safety Management System Guidance Document (FSMS) and training packages. Also, organizing and conducting various technical workshops, public lectures for capacity building with focus on Scientific capability and expertise build in food safety risk assessment.







  • An optimistic and results oriented professional with possession of well-off work experience in Food Sector. Post Graduate in Personnel Management with proactive experience of project management, organizing and promotion of events, networking with new companies, research for programs. Core area of expertise is to organize conversant and imperative training programs, Roundtables related to Food Safety & Quality, International Summits, Awards and Consultancy on HACCP, ISO 22000, FSMS for the benefit of the Indian Food Processing companies.







  • Ms Neha Aggarwal works in the Food Regulatory area at FACE. She is responsible for undertaking initiatives towards building capacity in the area of food regulations and facilitating work on development of food standards. She is a post Graduate in Information Technology and has 12yrs of professional experience.







  • Swathi S, Post graduate in Food Technology from Amity University. Hold experience of 1 year in Lean Manpower Management in Food Production Industry as Technical officer in Hatsun Agro product LTD. and as QHSE executive at Sodexo Food Safety Audit Panel. Have an adept knowledge in Food Safety and Quality Management System. Currently working as Executive with CII-FACE, Food safety and Quality vertical.


Cold Chain







  • Pragya Nehru with an advanced degree in Food Processing and Management with over eight years' experience in evidence-based calls for policy change and advisory across the Agri value supply chain.
  • Joined in 2012, she leads the post-harvest vertical under FACE. Her work includes Enabling evidence-based calls for change in public policy and private investment for Food Processing and Cold Chain, research & report creation, policy development & advocacy, advisory & training, project management and event management in the domain of post-harvest logistics and cold chain.
  • She has done a professional training on Cold Chain Management systems from Cemfroid (Paris) and have an exposure of both international and domestic cold chain infrastructure systems.
  • Also did the Food Professional Course on "Food Safety and Quality Management System" from IIT Kharagpur acquiring knowledge of Total Quality Management System, ISO 22000, HACCP and quality systems.
  • Having worked closely with Ministry of Food Processing, have an extensive experience on Drafting various policies and papers.







  • Rashmi is working with cold chain vertical of FACE since 1 year. She has more than 3 years of experience in the agriculture industry where she has majorly worked on the projects related to value chain analysis of Agri- commodities, Impact assessment of govt schemes for Agri and allied sectors and Commodity profiling. She was also involved in the PMC for Agri- infrastructure like cold chain, Pilot processing plants and, Mega Food park. She has done MBA(Agribusiness management) and BSc (Hons)Agriculture.









  • Ms. Surbhi Bhalla has completed her Masters in Food and Nutrition from Punjab University. She also holds a Bachelors in Science and Bachelors in Education from University of Delhi. She joins us from UNICEF (New Delhi, India Country Office) and has 8 years of work experience in the field of public health, with a major focus in the area of nutrition. Within this domain she has worked primarily in the areas of, maternal and child health, 1000-day period, malnutrition in tribal children, capacity building and school health programs, with agencies like UNICEF and Public Health Foundation of India.
  • She has authored multiple papers and reports which are on the issues of Drivers of child stunting in eastern India, Harnessing Power of Women Collectives to Promote Women's Nutrition in Tribals of India, Review of Government Programmes for Women and Children in India: Implications for Nutrition during the thousand Day Period, India: A Situational analysis for Transform Nutrition and also contributed to the book titled - Forest Lanterns - A Collection of Essays on Nourishing India's Tribal Children (Published by Penguin).
  • Outside of work she enjoys offbeat travel, watching plays and playing table tennis.


Policy Advocacy







  • Grace is a research professional with more than fifteen years of experience. Her experiences are in designing and conducting primary and secondary research studies, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, monitoring and impact evaluation and policy analysis. She has worked on numerous research projects and consultancy studies sponsored by international donor agencies like USAID, World Bank, DFID, IUCN, Government agencies and Corporates clients. Her sector specific experiences are in the areas of natural resource management, agriculture, food processing, forestry, biodiversity and climate change.
  • At CII-FACE, she is responsible for conducting research and policy studies in areas of Agriculture, Food Processing and Cold Chain.
  • Prior to CII, she was working as an Associate Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi. She has a postgraduate degree in Natural Resource Management from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.







  • Ritoja has eight years of research experience in policy and infrastructure. Her areas of expertise include policy impact evaluation, macroeconomic analysis and research synthesis. At CII-FACE, she is responsible for agriculture research and policy advocacy.
  • Ritoja holds a Masters in Economics (Centre for Economic Studies and Planning) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.







  • Prashant Somani is part of the team at Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). His primary area of focus is Agriculture Technology & Innovation. In his current profile at CII-FACE, he is involved in identifying agri innovators at early stage, preparation of research and analysis based reports (primary and secondary); management, active engagement with the members of the industry and government officials/departments, startups and entrepreneurs; tracking policy change; and planning new initiatives to promote digitization in Agriculture.
  • Prashant holds a degree in Business Management in Entrepreneurship & Finance (RMIT, Australia) and has completed Diploma program in Business Management from Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore.







  • Ishani is a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in Technology Management with a specialization in Strategic Technology Management from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT Delhi) after completion of Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communication. She has close to 07 years of experience in various industries in the fields of Technology, Automotive Engineering, Energy Management and currently working as an Executive Officer in the Innovation and Technology Division of Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Previously, she was in the Energy and Infrastructure department of CII and was involved in various technical research projects on Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy.
  • Prior to CII, she worked with a Gurgaon based automotive consulting firm- AVL India Pvt. Ltd. as an Engineer and was involved in simulation & testing, quality management and standards and various R&D activities. She was working on the Diagnostic Equipment for pollution check and vehicle testing procedures as per ARAI requirements for Quality Management. She has also been part of several government funded research projects at IIT Delhi.







  • Manish is a Business management graduate having over 21 years of experience. He has been with CII since the last 20 years, engaged in multifarious initiatives and programmes for the SMEs, within India and abroad. Currently, he is engaging the industry on the Food Processing sector through the CII National Food Processing committee, the Task Force of Food Regulatory Affairs and the Tractor industry through the Tractor Manufacturers Associations (TMA).
  • A Post Graduate, who studied Business Management, prior to completing a MS in Consultancy Management from the Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences (BITS), Pilani, he is a Professional member of Consultancy Development Centre and the All India Management Association, New Delhi







  • Ms A V Rajamany has been working with Confederation of Indian Industry since 1996.
  • In FACE, her focus areas are Agricultural Mechanization and Tractor industry together with the management of Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA); and the Diary industry through the CII National Committee on Dairy.
  • Her profile involves active engagement with the members of the Industry, various Government Officials/ Departments, tracking policy changes and planning new initiatives to promote Agricultural Mechanization.
  • Before moving to FACE, she was with the International Department of CII looking after the promotion of commercial activities and enhancement of bilateral relations between India and ASEAN, Asia Pacific countries. She was closely linked with the various international activities of CII for expanding business opportunities for Industry through a range of specialized networking events and global linkages.
  • Ms A V Rajamany is a graduate in Mathematics and holds a Diploma in Computer Science.







  • Roli Pande is a MBA-Agri Business Management from MANAGE, Hyderabad and a graduate in Agriculture from GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology. She has been with CII since the last 8.5 years working in the agriculture domain.
  • Major part of her work at FACE involves working in the area of Agriculture policy under the National Council on Agriculture. Her profile involves work on policy advocacy, tracking policy changes, research and analysis, active engagement with the members of the Industry and government officials/departments.
