National Food Processing Conclave - Overview

About the Conclave

The food processing sector, presents a great investment opportunity as India’s domestic food market is one of the largest and yet a rapidly growing one. At present, the country has low level of processing– only about 10-11% of the produce is processed, while at the same time, consumption patterns are changing in favor of convenience food, thereby offering huge growth potential for the sector. Additionally, the Governments thrust is evident with the announcements about the Operation Greens scheme, establishment of a Financial institution and developing the supporting infrastructure for the food processing sector with the central governments grant of USD 900 million through subsidies for food processing infrastructure, logistics, supporting units developing backward linkages, capacity building and building quality control related infrastructure. This underscores the investment potential of the sector.

With an Intent to fast-track the roadmap for Indian Food Processing Industries 2.0 and to arrive at key insights/recommendations, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing National Food Processing Conclave on 30th November 2018, in New Delhi. The theme for the conclave is Roadmap for Indian Food Processing Industry 2.0.
