Assessor Training Courses for the CII National Award for Food Safety 2014
CII- Jubilant Bhartia Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) organized four Assessor Training Courses for the CII National Award for Food Safety 2014 at New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai during March - May 2014 . The programmes were aimed at upgrading experienced food professionals and practicing managers having exposure to Global Food Safety standards and Best Practices, on Food Safety Excellence Maturity Assessment. The program helped provide in -depth knowledge and skills to the participants on Maturity assessment through a balance of syndicate exercises, case studies, presentation of sector specific GMPs by the participating domain experts and tutor led sessions. This 2 day training is mandatory for food professionals who wish to obtain an opportunity of contributing and learning through On-site Award assessments in organisations which have applied for the CII National Award for Food Safety . The Award program is in its 5th year of execution and applications have grown by more than 600 % since its inception in 2010. For the past 2 years, Chairman of FSSAI, Shri Chandramouli has been endorsing his appreciation for the Award by his gracious presence as Chief Guest in the Awards Ceremony held in New Delhi during CII Flagship event , the Food Safety and Quality Summit.The participation of Street Food across the country in the Awards Programs was a milestone achievement in 2013.
There are presently 195 qualified CII Food Safety Award Assessors in India from Food sectors like Dairy, Bakery, Confectionery, Beverages, Meat and Poultry, Sugar, Tea, Hospitality, Spices, Ready to Eat, Intermediaries, Pest Control, Wholesale, Laboratories, Certification Bodies and others.
