  • Ms. Meetu Kapur leads Confederation of Indian Industry's (CII) Food and Agriculture Vertical, driving policy and reform across the sectors, working with stakeholders across, government, industry, civil society and NGO's. She is also, responsible for setting up CII's Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE). FACE is focused on catalyzing innovation, building capacity and enhancing productivity, in the agriculture and food processing sector.
  • Prior to working with CII, Meetu co-founded 26 Celsius, a Boston based startup focused on building innovative and scalable market based solutions that improve agricultural productivity and enable financial inclusion. From 1996 to 2009 she worked with General Electric in the areas of financial services, and business re-engineering based out of India and the UK .
  • She has 20 years of experience across Project Management, Operations, Quality and Sustainability in the Agricultural and Financial Services Sector with strong expertise in building strategic partnerships and managing global programs.
  • She is a graduate of the MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership and has completed certificate programs in Corporate Finance and Advanced Microeconomics from London School of Economics.


Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory







  • Dr Indrani Ghose, Strategic Advisor, Food Safety and Quality of CII's Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence, is a National Level Resource Person for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India's (FSSAI)'s Food Safety Training and Certification Program (FoSTaC) in the Manufacturing, Catering and Bakery sectors. One of her key focus areas is the design, development and continual improvement of the unique CII Food Safety Maturity Model and its administration as the CII Award Program for Food Safety in the Indian Industry since 2010. She has trained more than 360 Food Professionals as Lead assessors / assessors for conducting on - site Maturity assessments for the Food Safety Award. Indrani has also facilitated successful introduction of the Cluster Approach in Indian Food Processing units for implementing HACCP and global standards of Food Safety Management Systems using TQM tools and techniques. Establishing Global and National collaborative connects & networks for promoting best practices , developing and deploying new Service Portfolios and promoting Capacity building and Science behind Food Safety and Quality across the country are her key primary responsibilities.







  • Sam Thomas John is an Agricultural Engg graduate with 18 years of experience in Implementing in Food Safety Standards Consultancy Projects in Food Industry, Food Safety Standards Audits, & Food Safety & Hygiene Standards Trainings across India & Overseas. At CII Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence he is responsible for Capacity Building Initiatives across the food safety chain through Consultancy, Assessments, Trainings, Seminars, Workshops, CII Food Safety Award and through Partnerships with Industry, Regulatory Bodies, Academic Research & Institutes and International Organizations.







  • Radha Joshi, a Professional with more than 12 years of experience in food safety and quality control in food industry with prime responsibilities of providing technical support to regulatory compliances, existing product development, food safety trainings, quality control and pathogen detection on rapid platform of raw and finished products. She has efficiently delivered food safety implementation solutions in various manufacturing units (covering meat, poultry, beverage, dry mixes, bakery), hospitality sector, QSR chains and during national and international sports events.
  • She is a lead auditor for HACCP and QMS, an approved Food Safety Tutor for Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance Middle East Asia (HABC) for internationally accredited OFQUAL certificate courses, a successful ZED master trainer under QCI ZED Maturity assessment and Certification program and master trainer for few schemes under the umbrella of FSSAI like SNF (Safe and Nutritious Food) program and FOSTAC for advanced manufacturing and catering.

  • Ms Shivani Singh, Food Safety and Quality of CII-HUL Initiative on Food Safety Sciences (CHIFSS), based out of FACE, New Delhi, is a R&D proficient with 4.5 Years of experience. She is MSc in Food Technology from School of Vocational and Applied Sciences, Gautam Buddha University. Her experience is in Quality Assurance in Food Industries including Mother Dairy, NABL Certified lab and in Agriculture ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute. She is well versed with Food auditing and Standards i.e. HACCP, ISO 17025, ISO22000. Her current profile involves, development of food category specific Food Safety Management System Guidance Document (FSMS) and training packages. Also, organizing and conducting various technical workshops, public lectures for capacity building with focus on Scientific capability and expertise build in food safety risk assessment.







  • Ms Neha Aggarwal works in the Food Regulatory area at FACE. She is responsible for undertaking initiatives towards building capacity in the area of food regulations and facilitating work on development of food standards. She is a post Graduate in Information Technology and has 12yrs of professional experience.

Anchal Gupta





  • I am a Food regulatory professional with an overall experience of 4 years. I have 3 years of experience in Food law and Food regulatory affairs with Lakshmi kumaran and Shridharan Attorneys, Delhi. I have also worked with Ultra International limited for one year in flavor creation and application. I am well versed with the FSS act, rules and regulations. I did my in Food technology from Shaheed Rajguru College, Delhi University and I am currently pursuing PG diploma in Food Safety and Quality Management from IGNOU. I have joined CII FACE in Food Regulatory and works on aiding industries for development of standards and capacity building in the area of Food regulations.

Mahendra Verma





  • Mahendra Verma, Counsellor- Food Safety and Quality will be supporting us on CeSRAC Initiatives and deliverables. He is based out of FACE, New Delhi. He is a Quality & Food Safety Management professional with 14.5 Years of experience in Food & Beverage Industries including Mohan Meakin Ltd., SABMiller India Ltd., Alcobev Raw material supplier - DVKSP Impex Pvt. Ltd., & Catalysts Biotechnology and Food Retail Organisations. He is a Graduate in Chemistry and Postgraduate in Food Science & Technology from Bundelkhan University, Jhansi and PGDM in Operations from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune. He is a lead auditor for FSSC2200 and FOSTAC trainer for advanced manufacturing and Advance Retail & Distribution. Mahendra enjoys Playing cricket, music and loves to travel.

Meenakshi Verma





  • Meenakshi Verma has pursued B. Tech in Food Technology along with MBA in Operations Management and holds 11 years of working experience. She has joined us as Counsellor – Food Safety and her expertise are food safety and regulatory aspects. She is ISO22000 and ISO 17025 certified lead auditor and also National Level Resource Person (NLRP) for FoSTaC. She has worked in various private organizations such as Britannia Industries and Pan Foods Ltd and for last 5 years she has served as Food Safety Consultant at Food Safety & Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India.

Pawan Kumar Pareek





  • Having done my M.Sc. in Microboiology, I joined New Drug Discovery Research (NDDR) in Ranbaxy as a Scientist in January 2006 focusing on antiviral and antibacterial discovery research and discovered a herbal anti-dengue candidate. In July 2010 I joined Daiichi Sankyo Pharma for Infectious Diseases research focusing on hospital acquired infections and got the opportunity to work at Daiichi Sankyo, Tokyo with a few globally renowned scientists and could establish a novel screening tool to identify mechanism of action of new/novel drugs. In Mar, 2017 I switched to Lotus Dairy Products Pvt Ltd and led Quality Assurance and Food Safety team. We successfully established HACCP and quality systems for different product lines and trained the staff for GLP, GMP and QMS. We could establish RTD flavoured milk line and initiated co-manufacturing RTD Nescafe.


Post Harvest and Logistics







  • Pragya Nehru with an advanced degree in Food Processing and Management with over eight years' experience in evidence-based calls for policy change and advisory across the Agri value supply chain.
  • Joined in 2012, she leads the post-harvest vertical under FACE. Her work includes Enabling evidence-based calls for change in public policy and private investment for Food Processing and Cold Chain, research & report creation, policy development & advocacy, advisory & training, project management and event management in the domain of post-harvest logistics and cold chain.
  • She has done a professional training on Cold Chain Management systems from Cemfroid (Paris) and have an exposure of both international and domestic cold chain infrastructure systems.
  • Also did the Food Professional Course on "Food Safety and Quality Management System" from IIT Kharagpur acquiring knowledge of Total Quality Management System, ISO 22000, HACCP and quality systems.
  • Having worked closely with Ministry of Food Processing, have an extensive experience on Drafting various policies and papers.







  • Rashmi is working with cold chain vertical of FACE since 1 year. She has more than 3 years of experience in the agriculture industry where she has majorly worked on the projects related to value chain analysis of Agri- commodities, Impact assessment of govt schemes for Agri and allied sectors and Commodity profiling. She was also involved in the PMC for Agri- infrastructure like cold chain, Pilot processing plants and, Mega Food park. She has done MBA(Agribusiness management) and BSc (Hons)Agriculture.







  • Mr. Rijo Varghese has completed MBA in marketing form Amity University. He is working with Post-Harvest & Logistics vertical from more than two years. He is responsible for organizing and promoting events and also takes care of financials of the vertical. He is also engaged with task force members for their active participation and engagement for CII events.





Richa Malik





  • Richa is a public health professional with over seven years of involvement in varied fields of nutrition like community nutrition, infant and young child feeding, maternal health and nutrition, fortification project portfolio and planning, behaviour change communication, with added teaching experience at the master’s level (IGNOU). She accomplished her doctorate in Food and Nutrition from University of Delhi on “Double Burden of Malnutrition among mother-child dyads residing in urban poor settings of Delhi”. She has worked with reputed organisations like Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to name a few. In addition, Richa gained industry exposure with corporates like Nestle and Danone Nutricia on short consultancy projects. As part of the Ph.D. work, she has few publications to her credit and she has presented papers in various National and International conference(s), and awarded best student in Advance Nutrition at master’s level.


Policy Advocacy







  • Ritoja has eight years of research experience in policy and infrastructure. Her areas of expertise include policy impact evaluation, macroeconomic analysis and research synthesis. At CII-FACE, she is responsible for agriculture research and policy advocacy.
  • Ritoja holds a Masters in Economics (Centre for Economic Studies and Planning) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.







  • Manish is a Business management graduate having over 21 years of experience. He has been with CII since the last 20 years, engaged in multifarious initiatives and programmes for the SMEs, within India and abroad. Currently, he is engaging the industry on the Food Processing sector through the CII National Food Processing committee, the Task Force of Food Regulatory Affairs and the Tractor industry through the Tractor Manufacturers Associations (TMA).
  • A Post Graduate, who studied Business Management, prior to completing a MS in Consultancy Management from the Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences (BITS), Pilani, he is a Professional member of Consultancy Development Centre and the All India Management Association, New Delhi







  • Ms A V Rajamany has been working with Confederation of Indian Industry since 1996.
  • In FACE, her focus areas are Agricultural Mechanization and Tractor industry together with the management of Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA); and the Diary industry through the CII National Committee on Dairy.
  • Her profile involves active engagement with the members of the Industry, various Government Officials/ Departments, tracking policy changes and planning new initiatives to promote Agricultural Mechanization.
  • Before moving to FACE, she was with the International Department of CII looking after the promotion of commercial activities and enhancement of bilateral relations between India and ASEAN, Asia Pacific countries. She was closely linked with the various international activities of CII for expanding business opportunities for Industry through a range of specialized networking events and global linkages.
  • Ms A V Rajamany is a graduate in Mathematics and holds a Diploma in Computer Science.








  • Roli Pande is a MBA-Agri Business Management from MANAGE, Hyderabad and a graduate in Agriculture from GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology. She has been with CII since the last 8.5 years working in the agriculture domain.
  • Major part of her work at FACE involves working in the area of Agriculture policy under the National Council on Agriculture. Her profile involves work on policy advocacy, tracking policy changes, research and analysis, active engagement with the members of the Industry and government officials/departments.



Shivam Sharma





  • Dr Shivam is a Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology from Jaypee University, Solan along with Post-graduate from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel and MBA in International Business. During his career he has published more than 15 research papers in various domains of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Life Sciences. Dr. Shivam Sharma carries over 11+ years of professional work experience in various domains of Agriculture and Rural Development along with consulted various Agribusiness projects and innovative technologies on subjects like Precision Farming, Robotics & Protected Cultivation . At large, he has been mentoring and working towards empowerment of Agri-Startups and helping them scale with speed along with helping them align with network of Corporates and FPOs. He has also worked on various capacity building and exposure programs at National and International Level in coordination with Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare. His profile at CII lies in the domain for energizing FPOs and imparting them best package of practises towards safe and sustainable farming and increasing their income.
