Awarding Food Safety Excellence
The CII Food Safety Award, a Distinguished Excellence Award on Food Safety Maturity Assessment in India, was launched by CII in 2010 to promote internationally benchmarked practices on Food Safety in Small, Medium, and Large Food Businesses and build capacity in the food value chain.
The Award has gained significant relevance in the current scenario in terms of performance improvement and benchmarking in the food sector, given the global priority accorded to Food Safety.
Over the last 4 years, besides covering sectors like Bakery, Beverages, Dairy, Edible Oils, Ready to Eat Snacks, Quick Service Restaurants, the Award program has expanded to include Institutional Canteens, Food Courts, E-Commerce, Laboratories and Joint Partnership Applications of Customers and Suppliers demonstrating Food Safety Excellence in the Food Supply Chain.
This year, we are introducing new Award categories of Home Chef and Fortified Foods (Oil & Milk).
We aim to cultivate and strengthen a culture of food safety and quality practices by recognizing and promoting outstanding Food businesses and Food Testing Labs in India from all tiers.
