CII is working on a Dairy investment accelerator project for BMGF, that is focused on catalyzing private investment in key opportunities identified, in order to set in a virtuous growth cycle for dairy farmers in India. This will be done through focused direct investor outreach and facilitation and supporting the on-ground implementation of enabling initiatives to unlock investments. In the backdrop of INR 15,000 Cr ($~2B) Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Fund aimed to support private investment in dairy offtake infrastructure, it is an opportune time to provide catalyzing support to the Government by facilitating some early anchor investments, which could then trigger the development of larger dairy clusters; strong eco-systems with investments also flowing in from local entrepreneurs/ SMEs into the development of the dairy market, leading to a sustained increase in farmer income and employment. The proposed program is being implemented in an Investment Accelerator-based approach by CII, and also involve setting up two separate Investment Accelerators, that will be set up across the Central and State level.
